I've got an HD version of the '86 Wembley concert (not the day that was released) and it is EXCELLENT. Would love to have seen them live, grew up listening to them.

Do the Flaming Lips count as knowing anything about music?

It wasn't a childish pop, you said you dont know anyone into music that likes Queen, if that's true then you can't know many people.

Quite amusing you accuse me of being childish then come out with "if watching a raving hoofter camp it up in leotards and crowns is to your taste. But what sort of bloke would enjoy that kind of performance?"

I guess you're too manly to like Bowie too.

Of course you don't have to like the band but to call one of the most successful bands in record sales, overrated pap, shows severe ignorance

Re: The Nation's Favourite Queen Song on ITV now
You have to realise that a lot of people simply don't know anything about music and so will call bands like Queen shit.

I used to work with someone who believed that the Beatles were shit and that Simply Red were much better. Cunt.

And Flash is my favourite Queen song.

These threads always make me laugh.

So many people rate their own ignorant opinions so highly.

Talk to virtually any professional musician in any genre and see how open minded they are (and yes I have been one myself), about the whole world of music out there.

Even if you don't like something yourself, the ignorant dismissal of any band or artists entire output really just shows how intellectually stunted the person making that statement is.

Take a step back, open your ears and understand that there will be at least some musical merit in ANYTHING that SOMEBODY out there likes, however few or many they may be.

"Pap" So wrong.

I undesrtand Queen are an acquired taste. They were never "easy" pop or rock. Until they got older..

LIsten to

The Prophet's Song
Deah On Two Legs
Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon
I'm In Love With My Car
You're My Best Friend

Few "rock" bands are / were this diverse. All on A Night At The Opera.

Overrated pap and you're SUPPOSED to know your music

Cunt

Re: The Nation's Favourite Queen Song on ITV now
Those who are saying they are papp or they don't know anyone who likes/liked them only need to look at how many bands in UK history were able to sell out Wembley.

Just by that alone and of course record sales, this proves beyond ALL reasoning that many thousands and thousand of people love/loved Queen let alone the rest of the world.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and could even use stronger words than papp (which i like!) but sales, concerts etc are the facts and don't lie.

Also, Any Old Iron - just by six degrees of separation, you will know may Queen fans!

Now why would you say that? Bit of a childish pop isn't it? But then what more could I expect from someone who likes Queen.
There was only one thing good about Queen, and that was the Marx Bros. inspired album titles.
Oh, and I suppose you could say Mercury was quite a showman; that's if watching a raving hoofter camp it up in leotards and crowns is to your taste. But what sort of bloke would enjoy that kind of performance?

"I don't know anyone who has an active interest in music and own a wide variety of albums who have any time for the garbage of Queen."

You must know about three people then.

Simply one of the best live acts this country has ever produced.

Their success is no accident, anyone that watched Live Aid remembers Queen, they completely stole the show.
